What is Sleep on Call?
A voice language exchange. You say which languages you speak and your level in each, and you are matched with people who share a language with you — so you can practise together. You can talk one to one, or join a live room grouped by language.
Do I need to be fluent?
No. You set a level for each language, from beginner to fluent, and matching uses those levels — so you are put with people you can actually hold a conversation with rather than being thrown in. In a live room you can listen first and take a seat only when you are ready to speak.
Is my voice recorded?
No. Voice is carried live and discarded when the call or room ends. Nothing is stored, there is no transcript, and nobody — including us — can listen back. Live rooms are not recorded either.
Is it a dating app?
No. It is built for practising a language with people who speak it, and nothing in it is designed for dating.
Is it safe?
We have tried to make it safe by design rather than by promise: no video, so your face is never on screen; nothing recorded; no advertising and no analytics tracking; chat opens only when you have both agreed; adults only, 18 and over; and you can report or block anyone at any time.
What happens when I ask for a call?
You send a request and the other person accepts or declines. If they accept, the call opens on both phones at the same moment and runs for up to twenty minutes. If they are on another call or away from the app, you will see that on their card instead of being left waiting.
When can I message someone?
A conversation opens when you have both agreed to it: when you each rate the other positively after a call, or when you follow each other. Nobody can message you out of the blue, and you're capped at five messages with no reply — once the other person replies even once, the cap is gone for good.
Who can see where I am?
Your country comes from your network when you sign in, and it appears on your profile unless you turn it off, in Profile Settings. We do not ask for a city, so one is never shown to anyone, not even to you.
Which languages can I choose?
A preset list of the most widely spoken languages. You add up to three you speak, each with your own level, plus your native language as a separate field. We match you with people who share a language with you, favouring whichever shared language and level pair fits best.
How do I delete my account?
Yourself, from Settings in the app. There is no request to send and nobody to wait for. Your profile disappears from the app straight away, and the account is erased for good 12 days later — if you change your mind, just sign back in within those 12 days and the deletion is cancelled.
